Brief History

In the mid-part of the 2010’s Nambucca provided a platform for many of the forerunners of the London nu-folk scene, with artists such as Frank Turner, Marcus Mumford and Laura Marling performing there regularly.

Prior to that it also was a staple of the burgeoning indie-scene led by The Libertines and many successful bands performed early gigs there including Florence & The Machine and Maximo Park.

How many people does it hold?

350

Who has played there?

A few legendary acts have already been mentioned, as well as them; The Kooks, Tom Grennan, Wolf Alice, Slaves and The Kaiser Chiefs have all played there this year.

Have there been any “I was there” moments?

North London rockers The Holloways who were actually formed at the venue played their first ever gig at Nambucca.

How do I get there?

Nambucca is in a great spot, it’s easily accessible from Highbury and Islington overground, Archway tube and it’s approx a £8 Taxi ride from Finsbury Park tube.

Where should I eat?

Chilango’s where the gang goes … yes that’s a makey uppey slogan but the burritos there are fire and it’s V close to the venue on Upper Street. They even have a festive flavour for Christmas:

Where can I stay?

Airbnb can’t go wrong!

Ticketweb Tips:

Try your best to come to the venue when Liam Gallagher is there, here he is chatting to Carl Barat at Nambucca, April 2017:

Where can you carry on the party?

At weekends Nambucca is open til at least 3am, but it’s also minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Upper Street – try The Big Red for some ridiculously fun dive bar vibes.
