The Albany has been bringing live entertainment to the people of Greenock, a shipbuilding town 30 miles from Glasgow for over six years now.

Brief History

Located inside a converted church, the venue opened its doors nearly six years ago and has been bringing world-class entertainment to the locals and tourists since. 

How many people does it hold?

The theatre holds 200, the restaurant holds 66, the function suite holds 130

Who has played there?

Artists such as Barbara Dickson, Big Country, Gallagher & Lyle, Judy Tzuke, Hue & Cry, Lloyd Cole, The Christians, Andrew Roachford and more have graced the venue’s stage over the years. 

Have there been any “I was there” moments? 

Scottish pop music royalty Gallagher and Lyle performed a rare live gig, headlining the venue in July 2017. 

How do I get there?

The venue is a two-minute walk from Greenock West Station and is also well served by local busses and taxis. 

Where should I eat?

Accessibility Information

Restaurant and restrooms all on one level and function suite and restrooms are all on one level.  There are stairs up to the theatre which is also serviced by a chair lift for those with mobility issues.  Note there are no restroom facilities at top floor theatre.

Where can you carry on the party?

The venue’s café bistro is open for drinks after the show.
