New Music: KLOE

Uber-talented singer unleashing deep-house inspired gems on an unprepared world…

At the back end of last year we gave you a heads up on a new track by a 19 year-old Scottish singer known as KLOE that was premièring on the always reliable Pigeons & Planes. All we knew about the track at that point was that it was produced by Lewis Gardiner from Prides. By the time the timpani roll on that track dropped at the stroke of 60 seconds we were hooked on KLOE along with the likes of taste-makers Nylon, DIY, Clash & The Fader.

Inspired by a relationship with an older man, the track perfectly captures the feelings of anticipation and nerves that frames many of our first explorations into the freedom our adolescence.

Just 11 days after releasing that track, KLOE collected the Capital FM One to Watch award at the Nordoff Robins Scottish Music Awards and announced signing to Columbia (home to Florence + The Machine and Charli XCX as well as loads of others). At first glance the rise seems meteoric, but a closer look suggests the frenzy surrounding the release of “Touch” disguises years of carefully laid groundwork, including 2 years curating a series of club nights in her native Glasgow called BLAKOUT.

Nothing this good just happens…
