Hardwicke Circus are a seven-piece Carlisle collective spreading swagger-filled Rock’n’Roll everywhere they go, which happens to be all over the UK and Ireland as they are currently on tour with Country Acid trailblazers Alabama 3.
Hardwicke Circus put their debut release together last year – a self-titled EP that turned enough heads to get the band booked for Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds festivals. We need more great, young Rock bands coming through and Hardwicke Circus feel like they have it covered. The spotlight is on them and they are basking in its warm glow…pressure is for tyres.
Just check out “Walda” below, it’s the kind of song that struts into your life whether you like it or not and once you’ve heard it you don’t want it to end. Between the seven members, the band are playing everything but the kitchen sink. All these impressive intricate instrumentals are on display during the track, Jonny Foster absolutely smashes the vocal, it really is a complete rock song.
The band’s press release describes their sound in a way I personally cannot alter or improve on; “Their music is indie rock with a confident swagger. Evoking early 70’s post-Altamont malevolence, dragging it kicking & screaming through a modern indie custom cab until it sounds like the Stone’s are covering Catfish & The Bottlemen.”
Get your ears around “Why You Looking For Love” released a few months ago. The visuals give you a great idea for where the band came from.
