I’m a miserable swine, the sort who sits in a park on a summer’s day and tuts about people wasting their lives. But not even the biggest misanthrope could be immune to 3-part harmonies of Girl Ray. Take a listen to “I’ll Make This Fun”.

We were first put on to the band by the chaps at legendary DIY label Moshi Moshi. They told us that Sophie, Poppy, and Iris deal in the sort of fuzzy pop gems that Moldy Peaches should still be making a name from. Similarly, the ever reliable Brooklyn Vegan has described their sound as “spare & spooky” falling “somewhere between Electrelane and Cate Le Bon”. 6Music’s Mark Riley was also ahead of the game – he hosted the band on his show back in march where they played their debut single Ghosty…

The band have already played Green Man festival and supported the likes of Whitney, Fear Of Men & Fake laugh. That’s some pretty good recommendations for Girl Ray then, but if you’re still unconvinced then here’s the “Prince of Lo-Fi”, Mac De Marco with his thoughts…
