Say Sue Me – Just Joking Around

The Story

Jae Young (Bass), Kim Byungkyu (guitar) & drummer Semin Kang met at school. They played in a band but then at some point in 2012 they overheard Sumi Choi speaking in a cafe and decided she should be their singer. While awaiting the recovery of original drummer Semin they recruited Changwon Kim to complete the current line-up. The debut album “We’ve Sobered Up” was released in 2013 on Korean Indie label Electric Muse. Now releasing via London label Damnably Records the band have been championed by a host of BBC 6Music DJs and have played packed-out shows at SXSW & The Great Escape.

Essential Tracks

Say Sue Me – Old Town

Say Sue Me – Dreaming – An ace cover of Blondie’s 1979 classic.

Say Sue Me – Good For Some Reason

Good For Some Reason was the first song the band recorded with drummer Changwon Kim. Singer Sumi described the track as a “a sweet-sounding tune about staying upbeat even when you’re feeling down on yourself” to The FADER who premiered the track last year.
