Introducing: Muncie Girls

It’s time to introduce you to Muncie Girls, the three-piece punk rockers who make music to make you think.

Muncie Girls are…

Lande – Bass Guitar/Vocals
Dean – Guitar
Luke – Drums

Intelligent thought provoking lyrics layered over the tried and tested trifecta of guitar, bass and drums, Muncie Girls make melodic punk rock in the similar vain to artists like Milk Teeth, Against Me! and RVIVR.

Formed in Exeter in 2012 with a shared love for punk rock, house shows and dive bars; Muncie Girls was born out of a desire to express the discontent and anxiety felt by three young adults growing up in the UK. They released their debut album From Caplan to Belsize in March 2016 gathering plaudits from key tastemakers such as Kerrang!, Rock Sound, Noisey DIY and The Line Of Best Fit.

Muncie Girls made a splash in the blogosphere last year with the track and accompanying visuals for “Respect,” which highlights the struggles of dealing with misogyny. Something unfortunately all too prevalent in rock music. As well as having an important message, it’s also a bit of a tune. Check it out below.

Also worth checking out is their latest single “Social Side”.

Muncie Girls are headed stateside to play TicketWeb & DIY Magazine presents: SXSW2017 at the British Music Embassy, Latitude 30. They’ll be on stage at 1am, it’s going to be an awesome event, find out more here.
