Introducing: Luke Burr

Twenty-two-year-old soulful singer-songwriter Luke Burr is a promising talent you need to pay attention to.

Who?

Emerging Essex artist Luke Burr.

The Sound

Growing up listening to his father’s Soul record collection, Burr incorporates inspiration from the likes of Luther Vandross, George Benson and Stevie Wonder into his sound. His stunning soulful vocal pairs beautifully with his storyteller songwriting style. If you’re into John Legend or Jorja Smith this’ll be right up your alley.

Get your ears on the latest single “Lights On” for a taste of Luke Burr’s enthralling talent:

The Story

The writing was on the wall for Luke Burr from a very young age. He’s been singing and playing the piano since he was five years old. Things have started to materialise in terms of the 22-year-old’s career as a touring and recording artist in the last few months.

Burr has toured as the main male vocalist with Rudimental, he played multiple sold-out shows with the band and garnered some invaluable experience when he sang in front of 15 thousand fans at MTV’s Sydney festival event.

His solo releases have attracted support from the likes of Apple, Shazam, Sofar Sounds, BBC Introducing and he’s been all over a number of popular Spotify playlists lately.

Essential Tracks

If you skip to 3.18 in the below video – that’s the point where”A Fool Getting Older” starts. It’s an excellent tune and a clever collaboration with Amsterdam based producer Full Crate. Check it:

“Too Far Gone” is another stand-out track from the young artist.

Where can I see him live?

Luke Burr is playing The Waiting Rooms in London this September. Get tickets to this show here and follow this link for future Luke Burr shows: ticketweb.co.uk/lukeburr
