Autumn has arrived and festival season is a distant memory... Or is it? First Fifty is here to save us from the doom and gloom.
Lewsberg are Arie van Vliet (vocals, guitar), Michiel Klein (guitar), Shalita Dietrich (vocals, bass guitar), Dico Kruijsse (drums). Reminicent of The Velvet Underground, early output from Modern Lovers and Parquet Courts they produce stripped-back, narrative driven indie that’s simultaneously as calm as it is brutal . Check out the original edit of the track The Smile below.
Lewsberg – The Smile
Taking their name from Dutch writer Robert Loesberg, famous for his dangerous 1974 novel Enige Defecten the first tracks to be heard from the band were self-released and only available in Physical form in the Netherlands. Regardless or possible due to this in accessibility they attracted the attention of some classy early adopters like Louder Than War . The album received a wider release in February 2019 and claimed new flag bearers in the form of Drowned In Sound & The Line Of Best fit which prompted the announcement of some (previously rare) dates outside of Holland including a slot at The Great Escape.
