The moniker of Wrexham’s multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and producer Polly Mackey.
The Sound
Slow, electronic sounds with atmospheric rhythm. Music that sounds fantastic in somewhere like St.Pancras Old Church.
The Story
Art School Girlfriend started after the disbanding of shoegaze outfit Deaf Club. Citing late-night pirate radio as her inspiration, Mackey began making experimental electronic music shortly after the breakup. Her first EP Measures was released in 2017
After moving from London to Margate, Polly Mackey’s sound has evolved, reaching new depths of self-awareness. She has spent the past year building on the foundations of her early releases to create a sound that completely fills your head, both on record and live.
