We’re Hosting A Stage At SXSW 2017 ft. Forth Wanderers, SuperGlu, Doe, Jamie Isaac, Blaenavon + Muncie Girls!

It that time of year again when a large portion of the music industry head to Austin, Texas for a week long bar crawl in search of the hottest new bands. That’s right people, it’s time for SXSW 2017! We loved it so much last year that this time round we thought we’d go one step bigger. So we’ve hooked up with our mates at DIY Mag & the British Music Embassy to host our very own stage on the opening night of the festival featuring no fewer than 6 of our favourite bands!

Here’s the details…

DIY + TicketWeb Presents
British Music Embassy @ Latitude 30. Monday 13 March
Doors 7pm. First act 8pm. If you’re a SXSW 2017 delegate then RSVP here.

But that’s not all! As well as being there to split the cab fare, the guys from DIY mag will also be dishing out an exclusive guide to British bands playing the festival. Don’t worry if you’re not in Austin, you’ll be able to pick up a copy in the April 17 edition of the mag.

Forth Wanderers – 8pm

Indie-slackers Forth Wanderers kick off the night and even though they’re not British, they are named after a Scottish footy team, and they sound awesome so we’ll let ’em off. “Special relationship” and all that.

SuperGlu – 9pm

We had so much fun with the ‘Glu when they played for us at Tabacco Dock last year that we just had to have then on our stage in Austin. Completely bonkers  and utterly un-Googleable; we can’t wait to see the US fall in love with Manningtree’s Britpop aces.

Doe – 10pm

Based in London but hailing from separate corners of the UK; Doe are the most splendorous purveyors of fuzzy 90s grunge. They just make us want to pogo ’til we’re sick, and then watch endless episodes of Daria.

Jamie Isaac – 11pm

As we approach the witching hour we’re going to be glad that we’ve got Croydon’s own Jamie Isaac to bring it down a notch. The Brit School grad is creating immersive ambient music that is just down right cool.

Blaenavon – 12am

No one can compete with the flowing locks or eminently dance-able tunes of indie 3-piece Blaenavon. Also, by this point, seeing who can still spell the band’s name becomes an excellent drinking game

Muncie Girls – 1am

Who better to round off the night than Exeter punk outfit Muncie Girls? Literally no-one! Lande & Co’s metal-inspired indie pop anthems are going to take us home. Goodnight Vienna.

SXSW 2017 delegates can RSVP for all events at the British Music Embassy (Latitude 30) at www.thebritishmusicembassy.com
