Festival season might be in full swing, but there’s still plenty to get stuck into at your local venue. Here’s what we reckon are worth going to this week.
Monday – NOTS @ Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
The cool-as-you-like noise-punkers from Memphis are in the UK for a handful of shows.
Tuesday – Bill Ryder-Jones @ The Crescent, York
The former The Coral guitarist brings his introspective solo work to Yorkshire. Trust us, he’s phenomenal live.
Wednesday – Rhys Lewis @ The Bullingdon, Oxford
The up-and-coming pop-soul singer was a huge draw at The Great Escape Festival. Catch him in smaller venues while you still can.
Thursday – YOU’RE BORING I’M BORED General Election Party @ Old Blue Last, London
Go vote people! Then come to Shoreditch for a party featuring live sets from SHINERS, The RPMs, Alexis Kings, Harry Pane and a very special secret headliner! All proceeds go to Hope Not Hate.
Friday – Basement Tapes pres. Young Gun Silver Fox @ Kamio, London
Shawn Lee and Andy Platt bring their new project to East London. Classic melodic pop with a funk ‘n’ soul twist, drenched in sunshine.
Saturday – Minus The Bear @ The Haunt, Brighton
The Seattle indie-rockers tour in support of their excellent latest album Voids
Sunday – Hanson @ O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London
MMMBop! The Hanson fellas are back in London! For a night of 90s nostalgia (psst, their new songs are actually quite decent too) nobody does it better than the trio from Tulsa.
