Rock City opened its doors 11 December 1980 when The Undertones became the first band to grace the stage at the now legendary venue. Since then, literally, thousands of artists have walked through the doors of the city centre institution. The venue is operated by DHP. The locally based music company, have looked after the venue since the start and have decades of experience in promoting shows. Much loved by bands and fans alike, the venue has become a favourite pit-stop for artists and put Nottingham’s music scene on the map. Famously, Kerrang Magazine named the venue its ‘venue of the year’ 10-years straight.
