Everything you need to know about the South London venue...
The good people behind unique events at Tobacco Dock, Printworks and other unusual locations have added another gem of a venue to their arsenal!
Old Fountain Studios, 128 Wembley Park Drive, Wembley, HA9 8HP
Fountain Studios was a TV & film studio up until recently. The space has seen some live music performances in the past as The X-Factor and Britain’s Got Talent were filmed there once upon a time. London Warehouse Events organisers’ have been able to make ingenious use of the venue’s past functionality.
“The new space opens up a great platform for production. With its previous life as a TV & Film studios, it has a range of rigging capabilities where we can fix a substantial L’Acoustics sound system over the dancefloor. We’ll also be flying trussing with a complex tessellating lighting design, which I’m super excited about; and not to mention the installation of over 85 lasers.”
Loz Poulton (LWE – Head of Production)
How many people does it hold?
Who has played there?
The Martinez Brothers played the sensational launch party on May 6th. London Warehouse Events are the first promoters to put actual gigs on in the venue, no better people to use this blank canvas to facilitate some amazing shows in a really cool space.
Have there been any “I was there” moments?
Unless you count being there when One Direction came third in the X-Factor final circa 2010 … nah? Neither do we.
The Old Fountain Studios official opening party will be an “I was there” story for years to come. Cuttin’ Headz with the Martinez Brothers was legendary:
How do I get there?
Easy access via the Jubilee line, if you’ve ever been to Wembley Stadium or the SSE Arena you know the drill:
Where should I eat?
From the sounds of things, LWE plan on getting a selection of food traders into the venue/surrounding area for most of the events, there’s also the Wembley Park shopping centre which has a Prezzo and a Wagamama’s and so on. There’s plenty of choice – you’ll be grand
Where can I stay?
From attending loads of LWE parties we know that a great strategy is getting to the venue nice and early for the event – make the most out of your ticket. From the look and sound of things to come in Old Fountain Studios, we reckon you should go to one of the first gigs there AND going in early to bask in the atmos and good vibes.
Where can you carry on the party?
If there’s a curfew at the show we’d say your best bet is to head back into the city but always keep an eye/ear out for official after parties.
