Venue Guide: The Lexington

Here's what you need to know about North London's haunt for new music fans...

The Lexington is one of the best small venues in the country to catch some live music. It just so happens that it’s also our local! Here’s what we think you need to know…

96-98 Pentonville Road, London, N1 9JB

Telephone Number: 020 78375371

Brief History

The Lexington is one of those venues that you just know you’re going to have a good time at. The American style bar downstairs is always buzzy whatever night of the week you go, but upstairs is where the magic happens. The venue upstairs has been a proving ground for so many bands who have gone onto bigger things. If you’re wanting to catch the next big thing, you might just find them in The Lexington. Don’t believe us? Just look at the list of bands who have played the venue…

How many people does it hold? 200

Who has played there?

Hozier, Charli XCX First Aid Kit, Pale Waves, The Xcerts, The Temper Trap, George Ezra,  The Head and The Heart, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Tame Impala, Wolfmother, Two Door Cinema Club, The Futureheads, Feeder, Warpaint, The Joy Formidable, The Jesus and Mary Chain and The Big Moon to name a few…

Have there been any “I was there” moments?

Wolf Alice played the venue back in June 2013, two years before the release of their debut album My Love Is Cool.

How do I get there?

The venue is ten minutes walk away from both Angel and Kings Cross stations.

Where should I eat?

The Lexington serves food and we can vouch for the quality of it! Their burgers are legit and they cater for both meat eaters and vegetarians/vegans.

Where can I stay?

Find places to stay in London on Airbnb, like this CLOCK TOWER APARTMENT at St Pancras Station which is a ten-minute walk from the venue.

Ticketweb Tip

The Lexington has an insane Bourbon selection. Perfect for fighting off the cold!

Keeping you warm this winter… 🥃

Where can you carry on the party?

The Lexington is open late most nights (like super late, 4am on Fridays and Saturdays) so with some good tunes, and good booze, we recommend keeping the party going right where you are!
