TicketWeb @ Lovebox 2016 – The Five Best Artists We Saw

Lovebox 2016, take a bow. The sun shined, the crowd was up for it and the artists brought their a-game to East London’s leafy Victoria Park. Here are our five favourite artists we caught over the weekend.

We have got a lot of time for @momomoyouth #finalsong #livemusic #mø #lovebox

Appearing on the main stage on Friday afternoon the Swedish pop-star looked completely unfazed by the impressively large crowd who turned up to watch her. “Final Song” might be the song of the summer and “Lean On,” her 2015 smash collaboration with Major Lazer is an undeniable tune. See MØ on tour in October.

Izzy Bizu

We’ve got mad love for Izzy Bizu. We made the Londoner of one our Ones To Watch and her set on the main stage completely justified our decision. Now we’re not saying Izzy has magic powers, but surely it can’t be a coincidence that she sun started shining as soon as she took the stage? See her play KOKO, London in September.

Stormzy

It went OFF for one of the biggest names in UK rap music. “Know Me From” and “Shut Up” were highlights of a very strong set which included a surprise appearance from Lethal Bizzle (see above) to perform his smash “Fester Skank.” Stormzy seemed to be genuinely humbled by the reaction he got, which was a nice thing to see.

Jungle

JUNGLE is massive (no-one has used that before right?)#livemusic #lovebox #twitter

It’s barely believable that this week saw Jungle’s debut album turn two years old, and what a ride it’s been since then. Jungle completely owned the main stage on Saturday night and a massive crowd gathered to sing along to every word, “Busy Earnin’” being a stand out highlight of an immense set.

Oh Wonder

If you're @loveboxfestival come watch @ohwondermusic right now! #lovebox #livemusic #twitter

Oh Wonder are an elusive band for me. I’ve just missed out on seeing them on at least four separate occasions so was thrilled to finally catch them at Lovebox. Anthony and Josephine have an amazing chemistry which translates into a thrilling live experience. Special shout out to the dude at the front, on his mate’s shoulders who had Oh Wonder scribbled on his abs and was happily swinging his shirt around his head whilst singing along to every word. UK festivals eh? There’s nowhere else like them.
