TicketWeb is 15 years old – let’s go on tour! #TW15

You might have spotted that we’ve been teasing you over the last 48 hours.  Well here’s the big news…

TicketWeb is 15 years old!

Can you believe it?! We started out in 1999 in a small room in what is now O2 Academy Brixton. It’s in that room that the UK’s first online ticket was sold, printed out and posted by our own fair hands. Oh, the memories…

To celebrate TicketWeb turning 15 years old, we’re heading out on tour! We’ve put our heads together with our favourite venues and promoters to curate a collection of gigs that is going to blow your socks off! Over the week we’re going to be indulging in some serious nostalgia trips about music over the last 15 years as well as some awesome ticket giveaways – it’s just our little way of saying thanks to all you guys!

Right now feast your eyes on the stellar #TW15 line-up and see what shows are coming your way…

We kick off just down the road from TicketWeb HQ at the wonderful Scala in London’s glorious King’s Cross where Communion Records will be  presenting the fantastic Josh Record – whadda start – get tickets here.

KOKO in Camden with a very special edition of Club NME  hosted by Killing  Moon Records – the brain child of DJ Ally McCrae. Looks are one of the finest new bands to come out the Killing Moon stable and we cannot wait to bust moves to their unique brand of echo driven electronica. Get tickets here.

Next we’re at O2 Academy Birmingham with those lovely lads from Eliza & The Bear (get tickets here)! We’ll still be humming their indie-pop anthems by the time we reach…

….Cardiff’s finest venue Clwb Ifor Bach! A date with rock ’n’ roll destiny awaits in the form of The Treatment. Get tickets here.

After that we’re off to the amazing Glad Café in Glasgow (their profits fund music lessons for the local community, don’t you know). It’s going to be the perfect spot to take in Sivu – probably our favourite singer-songwriter of 2014 – he’s gonna be tugging heartstrings left, right and centre. Get tickets here.

The amazing St. Vincent comes next, we’re absolutely delighted to have her on board and in particular it’s brilliant to shout about gigs in places you wouldn’t normally expect – Eastbourne Winter Gardens is a gem of a venue – you’ve gotta go!  Get tickets here.

Keeping with of friends from across the pond we have the marvelous Real Estate. 3 albums in   these guys just keep getting more special to us and  it’s a pleasure  to have their show at The Institute in Birmingham as  part of the tour!  Get tickets here.

After glorious night on the coast, it’s back oop North and if you’re going to have a gig in Manchester you better make sure you get a Manchester legend to play – we’ve  got Johnny Marr at O2 Apollo Manchester!  It doesn’t get more legendary than that! Get tickets here.

Staying North, we’re in Newcastle at the brilliant Think Tank, which will be playing host to one of the UK’s finest rock bands – Band Of Skulls. We’ve had some great nights in this place and don’t expect to be able to hear much the morning! Get tickets here.

Esteemed promoters London Warehouse Events team up with techno-jolly-in-Holland, Awakenings Festival and Adam Beyer‘s Drumcode label to bring you arguably the creme de la creme of techno DJs in East London’s Tobacco Dock. Expect fancy dress and thundering beats from the likes of Beyer himself, Scuba, Paul Woolford, Nina Kraviz, Joris Voorn, Mr G, Len Faki and loads more… Get tickets here.

Marika Hackman’s angelic tones are going to be just the tonic by this stage. She’ll be hosted at a newly decked out Arts Club in Liverpool  – we can recommend the burgers as well as the music.  Get tickets here.

Then it’s back to the capital and the tre-men-dous Electric Brixton for a pair who we’d love to keep as our own secret but who are getting bigger every year – the glorious Slow Club . Get tickets here.

If it  was not enough to be shortlisted for BBC’s sound of 2014 Ella Eyre ends the year with another accolade – a place on the TicketWeb #TW15 tour at the O2 Academy Bristol!  Get tickets here.

Talking of nominations, #TW15 is also blessed with the presence of a Mercury Music prize nominee  – non other than East India Youth. We’ve been tipping him for big things for a while so it’s awesome to have his show at Heaven on our list. Get tickets here.

One of the best things about this job is watching talent mature and to see Elly Jackson AKA La Roux develop from chart topping debutant in to the matured artist on Trouble In Paradise is really cool. It’s going to be one night at Norwich UEA that we’re never going to forget. Get tickets here.

And that  all adds up to one awesome tour! Soak it  up below and keep checking ticketweb.co.uk/tw15 for the latest updates!  Over and Out!
