Boxia has exclusively revealed his killer tunes for getting the crowd going day or night. Check it out over here....
After releasing his EP Ethereal Education earlier on this year, Boxia is setting his sights on a huuuuuge Drumcode Halloween gig on Saturday 27 October. A self-confessed ‘rave anorak’, he’s hugely respected in the underground music scene and we’re pretty chuffed that he’s taken time out of his crazy busy schedule to create a playlist just for us. Over to you Boxia….
“I’ve picked 5 of my favorite tracks for setting the tone for the night or day. I love opening rooms as much as i do closing them – here are my secret weapons.”
Dubrovnik – Argyl
Dubrovnik tracks feature in everyone of my warms ups, played this track at Arcadia on the Reactor stage earlier this year. Loads of nice warm rolling energy to nudge the crowd up a notch.
Rimarkable – I’m In Trouble
I came across this amazing track by this New York/Detroit based artist on a Bandcamp dig. This well and truly went off on my Sonar warm up, before Matador. Sun shining midday at Plaza Mayor Poble Espanyol Barcelona, scenes!
Humate – Love Stimulation [Radio Slave Full Length Remix]
Radio Slave is a huge favorite of mine, and this rework of another huge favorite of mine is perfect for my sets. It’s actually 15 mins long so i had to edit it down a bit.
Clive Henry & Alex Jann – Routes (Boxia’s Kaleidoscope Mix)
This relatively new remix by me of Clive Henry from Peace Division & Alex Jann has been going down well towards the end of warm ups. Played it recently at Hotel 82 in Valencia and ended the set perfectly
Abstraxton – Dystopia (Cleveland Remix)
I ended my main Gallery warm up with this in January for the Junction 2 at Tobacco Dock. I saw a video after when someone was filming there friends when i dropped it, and one shouted to the other as it dropped ‘Get me on that space ship right now’ made my day…
Woah! if that’s anything to go by, you lot are in for a proper treat at Drumcode Halloween – grab a ticket before they sell out here > www.ticketweb.co.uk/boxia
