Meet the Coventry-formed five-piece reinventing Britpop for the present day.
Fantastic folk songstress Anna Pancaldi has made us a quite brilliant playlist. The British artist has enjoyed continued success in The States as well as at home and it’s easy to see why with tunes like Brother below. The track has been streamed nearly 900,000 times on Spotify, check it out:
Pancaldi’s most recent work is electric guitar-driven and boasts an engaging and anthemic indie-rock sound. Get your ears on her summer release What I’ve Become here:
The singer-songwriter is in the midst of a UK tour right now but still managed to curate a nice list of feel-good jams for us all to enjoy. Thanks, Anna you’re thebomb.com, here’s the playlist with some words from the woman herself:
Anderson .Paak – Come Down
I love this track, you can’t sit still, it’s a full-on swag demanding track and love how he’s always smiling wide-eyed.
Candi Staton – Young Hearts Run Free
This track is my go to track for most occasions, it’s impossible to tire of it, what a wonder. Thank you, Candi. You can probably hear me belting this along the street from my house if I have it on, just doesn’t sound quite so beautiful as Candi haha.
Sam Fender – Play God
I’ve been listening to this guy for a while now, I love his voice and stand out guitar melody throughout his music.
Al Green – How Can You Mend A Broken Heart
JUST LOVE, full stop. What is there not to love.
The Beach Boys – God Only Knows
This reminds me of driving along the coastal road in South Africa from Cape Town to Hout Bay where my family used to live. Listening to this takes me back every time and a regular on my playlists for blissful nostalgia.
New Radicals – You Get What You Give
Get up and jump! Put the windows down and shout it loud. My brother, sister and I adore this track, you can’t not be joyful upon hearing this one.
M.I.A – Paper Planes
Love her attitude, her outspokenness and defiance within her career. What a WOMAN!
Judy Garland – The Man That Got Away
This one is golden, the words, melody, her performance is captivating and demands undistracted concentration. I grew up listening to Judy and my love for her craft never fades.
Samm Henshaw – How Does It Feel?
That voice, honey vocals.
St. Vincent – New York
I had this on repeat when I first heard, it just got me.
