Ones To Watch – Saint Raymond

Callum Burrows, aka Saint Raymond, hadn’t always dreamed of making it big in the music business. Nope, he wanted to be a hairdresser! The salons’ loss is our gain though, as Saint Raymond makes the kind of upbeat, radio-friendly indie music that’s been missing from the airwaves of late. We’d describe his sound as Bombay Bicycle Club-esque with flickers of HAIM, who incidentally, he has supported on their UK tour. That’s big boy stuff! He’s also had one of his tracks featured in a Made in Chelsea ad – say what you want about the programme, but they’re notorious for picking up the best new talent and showcasing it…

Back in 2013, he signed to Asylum Records (who have the likes of Rudimental, Charli XCX, Cee Lo Green and some guy called Ed Sheeran on their books), and has been making his way up the music ladder ever since. So now, after also supporting Bruce Springsteen and having Zane Lowe name his track Young Blood as Hottest Record of the Year, what’s next? He’s putting together his debut album and we assume, carefully plotting his world domination.
