Waylayers are one of those bands that pretty much came out of nowhere and slapped us all around the faces. Not literally, of course, but these boys went from unknowns in the depths of East London to breaking the Billboard 100 in a year – an impressive feat. 2013 saw them play over 20 festivals in the UK alone, 2014 took them on an impressive US tour and 2015 sees them return with a brand new record.
Comprised of Harry, Dave and Joe (how normal sounding are these chaps?), the band have been described by our mates over at The Line of Best Fit as “masterfully creating lean pop gems of relentless bass lines, sharp guitar riffs and crooning vocals”. Our other pals at Clash Magazine said “they write chorus’ to destroy the festival season” – they’re definitely ones to check out if you get the chance.
So, back to that new album. R E: V E R S E has seen them getting in the studio with DOUBLE Grammy nominee, Tommy Forrest, best known for his work with Duke Dumont. Not only that, but it was shot by none other than Rankin. As always, with albums come tours, and this is no exception. They’re supporting To Kill A King on their March tour, followed by their own headline tour this May. If you fancy seeing what all the fuss is about, you can get tickets to all these shows right HERE.
