Allow me to introduce you to the soundtrack to your weekend; feast your ears on Nimmo. the Londoners banging out unique and infectious electro-pop suitable for any party playlist.
First things first; check out “Kamikaze” the fresh single part of the three song EP Room 5 Sessions released just last weekend.
Nimmo are a London based 5-piece spearheaded by frontwomen Sarah Nimmo and Reva Gauntlett. Sarah and Reva are the principle songwriters who have been making music and playing gigs (mostly in pubs) since they were in school together. Nimmo acquired Faull and Hannah Rose originally because of their violin and saxophone prowess respectively. All four of them went to college together in Brighton where they met Williams.
Now signed to Columbia Records the band have a number of singles under their belt – some complete with audio from recordings from long before they signed their record deal. We are expecting the band’s first LP sometime in the near future and frankly we can’t bloody wait for it.
“My Only Friend” was released in July and it’s a bona fide bonkers banger:
The band fuses melancholic messages with sometimes radio friendly (sometimes not) electronic housey pop. The result is a groovy sort of dark party-pumping sound.
The band took every gig under the sun for about seven years crafting their full throttle no-holds-barred live performance. This has really stood to them as they have a captivating stage presence, floor-filling tracks and dynamite chemistry.
We saw them smash a set at Heaven in London a few weeks ago. There was a real warm party vibe in the venue.
This really was a special gig but don’t be too torn up about missing it, Nimmo are playing XOYO on the 20th of October which is sure to be an absolute cracker as well.
