New Music: Kyiki

You sing in a huge band that tours all over the world, playing hundreds of shows a year, spending months away from family and friends whilst spending too many hours in studios, hotel rooms and on aeroplanes. What do you do on your time off? Well in the case of Crystal Fighters vocalist and workaholic Eleanor Fletcher, you create your own project and make even more music. Let us introduce you to Kyiki, who’s not only easy to Google but also easy on the ears too.

Earlier this month, Kyiki dropped her newest single “Make Love, Live Free”, an anthem for those who do not want to let go of their immaturities. The self-produced track showcases Kyiki’s ear for a pop hook and a penchant for writing lyrics that further proves that pop songs can be smart as well as brilliant.

Splitting her time between LA and London (follow her on Instagram for major jealousy) Kyiki has only a handful of single releases under her belt so far but has already gathered attention from tastemakers and fans across the globe. She released her debut video for ultra-uplifting track “One” at the tail end of 2014, and the moody more experimental single “Here For” in the summer of this year. Check out the visuals for the latter song below.

It seems pretty certain that Kyiki is set to make waves in the foreseeable future. She’s played sold-out shows on both sides of the pond, and it feels like every single she releases is better than its predecessor. Don’t be surprised to see Kyiki pop up at a venue/festival near you soon.
