New Music: Jarryd James

“Can I get a little bit of your attention?”

Yes you can Jarryd James, as the singer exclaims in the chorus of his second single ‘Give Me Something’.  The Joel Little (Lorde, Broods) produced track is the follow up to ‘Do You Remember’ which has been a constant fixture at the top end of the iTunes and Shazam charts in Jarryd’s native Australia. The track eventually achieved double platinum status and has been streamed over five million times.

One of 2015’s newest and brightest stars, Jarryd is currently preparing for the release of his debut album Thirty One.  The singer-songwriter has already played numerous sell-out shows in his home country as well as performing at the prestigious The Troubadour in Los Angeles and the Bowery Ballroom in New York City.

Proving his ability to stand out as a unique voice amongst a very crowded musical landscape, Jarryd has also shown he has a knack at being able to take a well-known song, and make it his own. His cover of Weezer’s mid ‘90s hit ‘Say It Ain’t So’ brings a whole new life to a song that’s over two decades old.

Australia and New Zealand have provided us with some real gems in recent years. Jarryd James looks could well be on his way to joining the elite.

Jarryd is performing at Electrowerkz, London 17 September as part of the Mahogany Music Club. You can get tickets HERE
