Pass us the keys, we’ve just found a quality batch of driving-tunes from psychedelic-shoe-gazers; Furs.
Furs write the sort of tunes makes you want to steal a convertible and ride into the desert. In particular, tracks like “An Eye To The Vicious” & “Just Kids” are real indie swirlers with tones of Florence & The Machine, Electrelane & The Killers.
Furs – An Eye On The Vicious
Siblings Danielle & Liam Wade and the Duke Spirit’s Olly Betts started experimenting with demos back in 2012 during a spell spent in Los Angeles, California. Taking their name from from the Leopold Von Sacher Masoch book, Venus in Furs, they’ve spent the last couple of years casually dropping hype-driving material as well as supporting the likes of Johnny Marr and Allah-Lahs across the globe.
Ahead of the release of their self-produced debut album later this year Danielle (vocals) , Liam (guitar) & Olly (drums) have been joined by Scanners bassist Amina Bates. When we caught them at this year’s Great Escape that certainly sounded like an awesome addition.
The band have alaso attracted the attention of friend of TicketWeb amigo (photographer) James Perou as part of his Polaroid Project. He doesn’t take pics of just anyone you know, so we reckon it’s a good sign there’s a lot more to come from these guys.
