New Music: Dan Owen

Dan Owen is a compelling Singer-songwriter, who hails from Shrewsbury in Shropshire. Practically a pro in his teenage years, his dreams of becoming a luthier (making guitars) were shattered after an accident in the workshop left him partially blind. Dan turned to live music for a living, seeking solace in playing to deal with the aftermath of his accident. Over the years, he’s toured relentlessly, performing over 150 gigs a year, gaining new fans wherever he goes.

In 2011, an audience video of a festival performance spread like wildfire across the net. The combination of his dynamic stage presence and delivery of Bob Dylan’s classic

‘The Ballad Of Hollis Brown’ was so strong, it caught the attention of the national media and music legends such as Mick Fleetwood, consequently building a dedicated online following virtually overnight. A following that is continuing to build at rapid speed now.

Dan’s unique vocals have a feel and depth much older than his years, an uncanny trait that lends a fresh and inimitable sound to the new wave in British Singer-songwriter talent (which continues to surge in popularity).

Dan Owen’s insightful lyrics and charming melodies are winning over audiences all over the country and 2016 promises to be a big year for the rising star. He’s currently supporting Rae Morris on numerous dates across the UK in October and November 2015 and will soon be embarking on the Communion New Faces tour to coincide with the release of his debut EP on October 23rd 2015. Dan recently finished recording his debut EP with Cam Blackwood (George Ezra).

On 3rd November he’s doing a show at The Islington just round the corner from TW Towers. We are there.
