Introducing: Billy Lockett

This guy is bound for big things. Don't say we didn't warn you ...

Northampton-born London-based singer-songwriter Billy Lockett.

The Sound

It all starts with the piano when Billy Lockett constructs a tune, his impressive piano chops were inspired by the Italian pianist Ludovico Einaudi. If you’re like me, that name probably means little to you but Billy has channelled his classical influences into cool, catchy Pop reminiscent of Oh Wonder or London Grammar.

He’s also got an experimental side akin to Bon Iver and a captivating falsetto not unlike Maverick Sabre. Mix that all together with emotive lyricism and an ear for a hook … Billy Lockett is the result.

The latest single “Feels So Good” grows from reverb-drenched guitar and comes to a head with an epic crescendo of piano and synths. It was produced by MyRiot (London Grammar) and Sam Dixon (Adele/Jack Savoretti)

The Story

A maestro on the keys in his own right, Billy Lockett crafted a stunning debut EP around his unique sonic style and vocal talent in 2016. Burn It Down at just four tracks grabbed the attention of BBC Introducing and has now been streamed over 6 million times collectively. The quality of this record and Billy’s live performance landed him support slots with Lana Del Ray, Birdy and a sold out UK tour of his own.

The Independent, Metro and Evening Standard have all tipped Lockett as a One To Watch for 2018 and for good reason. Billy has released a handful of excellent singles since he arrived on the scene two years ago. Couple his strong, growing discography with his head-turning performances at Live at Leeds and The Great Escape festivals 2018 and you best believe Billy Lockett is here to stay.
