Meet Charlotte Carpenter – the Northampton-born Singer-Songwriter who has allowed us into her world, by photographing and documenting a “behind the scenes” view of her recent sell-out gig in Coventry.
I recommend playing Carpenter’s brilliant new single “Fire” while scrolling through what gig day is like for the rising Pop-Rock songstress. Take it away Charlotte:
Every time I drive to a show, I get that feeling of excitement, a rush of the unknown and a general gratitude of being able to make this a career. Ps I’m mostly listening to Elvis Presley or Led Zeppelin.
My first sold out show! I’ve had a number of ‘nearly’s’, a lot of ‘half full’ and a few empty ones too, but this is my first! 5 years of releasing music and touring has finally lead me to this point…
I play through a fender blues junior amp, and this guitar is what I call ‘Brucey’. Brucey was the guitar I’ve always wanted, inspired the man himself, Bruce Springsteen!
I’ve always thought that songs live inside guitars and this one has sparked a whole new world to my songwriting. It’s a baritone guitar and I feel like every guitar player should have one. So much possibility.
Pre-show tea! When I’m touring I usually have small glass of red wine and a honey & lemon tea. Such a warming and winning combo.
The waiting crowd at The Big Comfy Bookshop. This venue is such a hidden gem amongst the Midlands.
There’s nothing more wonderful than a quiet crowd, sharing your stories and soul with you. This was one of the most caring and attentive crowds I’ve ever had. Thank you Coventry!
Charlotte Carpenter will be serenading crowds again on the 2nd of March in The Victoria Dalston get tickets to this show here.
