Gabrielle Aplin Student House Party!

Chart topping artist Gabrielle Aplin has just made the dreams of one lucky student come true this summer by performing a one-off gig in the comfort of their very own home! Yes, the ‘Please Don’t Say You Love Me’ singer-songwriter teamed up with the UK’s number one student publication, The Student Pocket Guide, to perform at the house of a lucky competition winner, run via Alex Deverell, a third year biology student at the UEA, was 2013’s winner of the intimate house gig competition, which included a mesmerising set from one of the hottest solo artists to emerge this year.

With a number one single under her belt and gold certified debut album ‘English Rain’ peaking at number two in the UK charts, Gabrielle Aplin has hit the ground running at some pace in 2013 and she certainly didn’t disappoint at The Student Pocket Guide’s exclusive event. After meeting and greeting Alex and her friends which included making cups of tea for all the guests, Gabrielle took to the sofa stage and played six songs, including recent singles ‘Home’ and ‘Panic Cord’. The atmosphere really was something to remember as the 30 students, gently squeezed into the conservatory venue with pillows and blankets on the floor, were left in awe at Gabrielle’s breathtaking performance. It truly was an evening that will last long in the memory for all those who attended.
