Festival Preview: 5 Acts You Need To See At Together The People

Together The People is a brand new 5,000 capacity festival that takes place at Preston Park in Brighton.  There’s loads of brilliant bands performing including headliners Super Furry Animals and Jose Gonzalez.

There’s also loads of great up-and-coming acts playing the festival. Here is five of our top picks to check out.

Luke Sital-Singh

Who are they?
The singer-songwriter from SW London writes deeply personal music and has been compared to the likes of everyone from Bon Iver to Neil Young.  His debut album The Fire Inside was released last year and landed just outside the top 40.  Dermot O’Leary is a fan and Luke recently recorded a session for his Radio 2 show.

Chris Simmons

Who are they?
An acoustic songwriter who lists influences as diverse as Paul Simon, Ian Brown and Outkast. This track “Rabbit In The Taillights” showcases Chris’ considerable vocal talent. A native of Brighton, he is sure to go down a storm with the hometown crowd.

Mike Dignam

Who are they?
The singer from Manchester has amassed an impressive online following over recent years.  He played Wembley Arena as part of The Big Gig in 2014 and is currently gearing up for the release of his debut album Fight To Forgive. Cheerful pop music that will cheer you up on a rainy day.

Safe To Swim

Who are they?
Heavy pop four piece. Their debut track “Forget Life. Repeat” dropped earlier this year and is a real toe tapper.Safe To Swim are definitely a band to keep an eye on.

Glass City Vice

Who are they?
Kerrang magazine describes the Brighton quartet as “Manchester Orchestra-twinged pop” and it’s hard to disagree with them. The chorus on “Waves” is absolutely massive. We’ll see you see you at the front.
