Autumn has arrived and festival season is a distant memory... Or is it? First Fifty is here to save us from the doom and gloom.
Bringing together the two best words that begin with the letter b – beaches and bands, The Great Escape has been taking place for over ten years and is back again this May. A highlight of the year for those who love and work in music, the festival gives you the chance to see the next big thing before anyone else. TGE alumni include Adele, Royal Blood, The Maccabees, The 1975, Skepta, HAIM, Disclosure, The XX, Lewis Capaldi and Jack Garrett.
Here is what you need to know.
What’s The Great Escape then?
The festival is focused on up and coming music and takes place from Thursday 9 to Saturday 11 May 2019. The festival takes place in over 30+ venues all within walking distance of each other in the coastal town of Brighton.
Over the weekend over 450 bands will play. Alongside the gigs is the convention where panels, debates, keynote speeches and networking sessions all take place, run by and attended by some of the most influential people in the UK music industry.

Where’s it happening?
Brighton! The city is home to some absolutely cracking venues and your wristband will get you into every show. (Except the Spotlight gigs, they require a top-up ticket). The much loved “The Beach” a 2000 capacity “The Beach” festival site created on Brighton beach returns for 2019!
The best way to get there is by train, which takes about 50 minutes from Clapham Junction.
Some absolutely cracking new talent! Here are three hot tips from Team TicketWeb.
North East pop star L Devine
Irish punk rockers The Murder Capital
