Summer is well and truly here and everyone knows that in the summer, the best thing you can do is park yourself in a field for 3 days watching live music. On the 10th, 11th and 12th of August, you’re going to want to be partying hard at the UK’s ‘Best Grassroots Festival’ ( awarded by the Association of Independent Music Awards ) supporting new music, arts and creative endeavours. Here’s what you need to know about LeeFest presents: The Neverland.
What is LeeFest: The Neverland then?
During a hot summer of 2006, Lee Denny’s parents left him alone in the house whilst they went on holiday. They left Lee and his friends with one simple rule; do not have a house party. Aged 16, Lee thought an ingenious solution would be to have a festival in the garden. He assembled a gang of friends and together they built a lineup, stage, PA and a bar. LeeFest was born out of teenage rebellion, ingenuity and a desire to just make things happen. However, LeeFest’s fierce sense of independence and rebellion meant its focus was always on supporting new music, arts and creative endeavours.
Where’s it happening?
LeeFest takes place near Tunbridge Wells in Kent and is easily accessible from London, Brighton, Maidstone, Canterbury, Bromley, Croydon, Kent, Surrey & Sussex.
LeeFest is presenting The Neverlands. Within this theme there are three tribes… you must choose your tribe and dress the part! Pick from…
The Mermaids – The Mermaids of Mermaids Lagoon… a tribe of decadence, glamour and outrageous party antics.
The Pirates – The Pirates of Skull Ridge… the anarchistic, steampunk tribe obsessed with all things gold, rum and fire!
The Lost Boys – The Lost Boys of The Neverwoods… a mischievous tribe of forest children who never grow old!
LeeFest has a vast mix of new artists as well as some more established acts. Co-headlining the festival is Annie Mac and Jake Bugg. We also recommend catching these 4 artists over the weekend.
