Another cracking line-up is on the way from We Can Do It; A promotions company I run designed to put on gender equal line-ups to counteract the male-dominated music industry.
Last month we brought you Findlay, Dolls and Skinny Milk. A mesmerising collection of bands who came together for a greatly important cause; Rape Crisis. The night raised over £1000 for the charity and the bands performed to a packed out room of warm-hearted people all there to show their support. This month we have another cracking line-up in store…
The Franklys comprise of Jennifer Ahlkvist, Fanny Broberg, Zoe Biggs and Lexi Clark. This garage rock band have been described as having a ‘smattering of Hives gusto’. They have already created quite a buzz for themselves and are ready for their new single “Castaway” to be released at the launch party being held at Shacklewell Arms in Dalston. Having already travelled around the country for their autumn UK tour they are hitting London with all of the energy and sass they put into every performance. Get ready to party with them on their last date of the tour!

Main support for the show comes from Calva Louise. This trio are already starting to make a name for themselves after supporting Spring King, being played on BBC Introducing and being quoted in The New York Times. With a stage presence that can draw the audience into a frenzy, Calva Louise are something really special. You can see the stage chemistry between these three that they all have the same passion, ambition and joy for what they do and with the talent that oozes out of them we can see why. With a show-stopping performance of “Show” they can reel the crowd into their minds and drop them back to earth wanting more. These guys are ones to look out for and definitely a favourite to see live!

Openers for the night are Berries; an alt rock all female band based in London. Having had great support slots already for Andy Bennett (Ocean Colour Scene), being played on BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio they released their debut EP in the summer these ladies have a lot to offer already. With comparisons to Red Hot Chili Peppers and Biffy Clyro it won’t be long before they’re embraced by the UK music scene.
This is one night not to miss! Head down to Shacklewell Arms on 2nd November for 8pm when the doors open. Lots of banging tunes guaranteed.
