Behind The Noise 2016

Behind The Noise is a Glasgow based music business education programme, designed to inspire and engage young people who are interested in music, and show them the different career paths open to them. The programme culminates in a series of live shows at Glasgow’s Classic Grand venue. It’s a fantastic cause and every year members of team TicketWeb volunteer their time to help ticket the event, and educate the young music obsessives on the crazy world of ticketing.

The course is designed to inspire not only the next generation of artists, but also show young people that there is a whole range of music industry opportunities open to them. Watch this video to get a feel for the what it’s all about. > behindthenoise.co.uk/

As part of the programme, the school kids record their own tracks, upload them to Soundcloud and watch the play counter rise. They’ve already had more than 50k plays so far! Check out this year’s playlist below. Special mentions go to Remnants for their unique take on Britney Spears’ “Toxic”, Silver Lining’s cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab” and The View From Here’s lovely original composition “Mia”.

Scotland has always been a hotbed for young music talent, and judging by the playlist here the future is bright.

All the bands will be performing live over three nights at Classic Grand on the 18th, 19th and 21st of April. Tickets can be found at www.ticketweb.co.uk/behindthenoise for the wallet friendly price of £4. Who knows, on stage you might have the next Biffy Clyro and in the crowd, the next Alan McGee.
