Festival Guide: AMP Lost & Found

Believe the hype about AMP Lost & Found festival 2017. Dance music royalty Annie Mac presents DJ’s for days, this Easter weekend in Malta.

I think we all need a sun-soaked party to look forward to in these chilly Spring months, and your bloody mad if you think I’m waiting til summer. Enter AMP Lost & Found, an electronic music festival taking place from the 13th to the 16th of April in Malta. Four days and four nights of full-throttle, sun-drenched, hyphenated-anarchy.

Secure general admission and VIP tickets right here.

The Festival

Back by popular demand AMP Lost & Found Festival returns to the stunning island of Malta for the third year in a row. The four-dayer consists of pool parties, boat parties and all night raves in a frantic funkadelic four stage festival site. Last year saw the addition of the castle rave, which was unsurprisingly a huge hit. We think you’ll agree that there aren’t many cooler spots for a boogie than an ancient castle on a Mediterranean hillside….

Check out the 2016 aftermovie to see what your in for below:

The festival has been described as a special experience by both the punters and artists who have played the first 2 years. There have been no reports of poor organisation or trouble of any kind from the 2015 and 2016 editions. The Maltese people seem to relish the weekend that’s in it, the festival goers liven up what is Malta’s off season tourism-wise.

Annie Mac ensures the production behind the festival is top of the range. The sound quality and light displays are next level. With so much on offer at AMP Lost & Found it’s easy to forget that there is a massive focus on the lineup, which really reads like a who’s who of modern dance music, every DJ is a bonafide party starter in their own right. The weekend will be filled with sensational original tracks and bangin remixes, you’ll be shazaming for four days straight.

To make matters even better; AMP Lost & Found 2017 will be Annie Mac’s first performance after six months of maternity leave, she will be eager to get back behind the decks, prepare to be blown away by the coolest mum on earth.

Getting there

AMP Lost & Found have named Experience Malta as their official travel partner. They have a flights plus accommodation bundle deal for under £300. There will be plenty of flights to choose from whether you want to go solely for the 4-day festival or you are planning on throwing an extra day or two either side of AMP Lost & Found to discover more of Malta and what else it has to offer.

Staying there

The organisers recommend you stay close to Café Del Mar, this is where the daytime pool party venue and festival shuttle pick up/drop off point is located. This will undoubtedly serve as a festival hub of sorts, filled with like-minded festival goers with the sole plan of having a good time. There is an abundance of budget, mid-range and high end hotel options as well as apartments to choose from. Experience Malta has got you covered on these too.

Other things to do

Aside from just lapping up the beautiful weather and geography that Malta is blessed with, there are tonnes of activities to immerse yourself in. There is a Game of Thrones filming locations tour which sounds spectacular whether you’re a fan of the show or not. We have also heard great things about visiting Blue Lagoon in Comino. A trip to see Mdina Old City, the Azure Window and classic car collection museum are also highly regarded.

The music

As if you weren’t excited enough, here is a video of a seven months pregnant Annie Mac tearing it up at the her AMP All Day Rave in Tobacco Dock in September. The video shows a killer remix of Groove Armada’s “Superstylin”  and be warned – shit gets real about a minute in. Check it out:

Add in some house royalty, a man who needs no introduction Armand Van Helden

Eats Everything has been known to blast out some pumpers in his time. He is also teaming up with fellow house heavyweights Jackmaster, Seth Troxler and Skeam for an exclusive set as well as his own live performance.

Fatima Yamaha has been changing the game of late, listen to “What’s A Girl To Do” here; but be warned it’s an absolute ear-worm, love it.

It’s not all strictly dance acts on the bill. Under no circumstances should you miss rising Grime star Nadia Rose perform. She will blow the roof off the place.
