Festival Guide: Flying Vinyl

Festival season takes off next month; cruise in to Hackney because some of the best Indie acts around are landing in Oval Space on the 8th of April. It’s Flying Vinyl festival 2017.

As you know, VINYL IS BACK! Flying Vinyl is an awesome subscription service that sends its members a heap of 7″ records every month, so you can spin the best new alternative music for 30 days til another box arrives, and repeat. That’s a lot of music right? Right. So a company like that must know a thing or two about alternative acts and the Indie music scene right? Correct again.

So last year, the good people behind this great service wanted to put on a gig that felt different. They went for the “one day festival” approach, but it had to be “raw, aggressive and gritty” … spoiler alert … they nailed it.

What’s Flying Vinyl Festival then?

It’s going down all over again. Flying Vinyl fest 2017 is a one day Indie/alternative music festival taking place on the 8th of April. It won’t be for the feint-hearted, expect mosh-pits and crowd-surfing. The Flying Vinyl community are going to have fun and express themselves and their love for the music at a festival. End of.

Ten acts that Flying Vinyl have worked with will take to the stage. There has been some serious hype surrounding the company’s next move in the live space, we think they’ll smash this and the sky is the limit from there.

Where’s it happening?

East London – realistically this edgy Indie festival has to go down in the funkiest part of town. After the success of last year’s event in Hackney, Flying Vinyl have decided to come back here for round two, taking over Oval Space this time around.

Who’s playing?

Brighton based Indie three-piece The Wytches headline the festival. Their dark psychedelic flavoured Rock’n’Roll will tear the house down.

Manchester Indie royalty; Spring King will be blowing minds left, right and centre with their set.

The one-dayer will showcase a real who’s who of class acts and exciting up-and-coming Indie. Check out the full compliment of entertainment below:

I want in! Flying Vinyl sounds brilliant and I want a ticket.
