Festival Guide: Electric Fields

Everything you need to know about Electric Fields 2018...

Forget the Bahamas: the woodland hills of Scotland is where the real music festival fyre will ignite. Get involved in some Scottish shenanigans this August.

Electric Fields is back by popular demand for its fifth year. Here’s the best part: because of the success of last year – it’s a three-day affair! Result! That means you get to escape the realms of relentless reality for the whole weekend and dive into everything this unique festival has to offer.

What’s Electric Fields then?

It’s a funky little 3-day camping, family friendly boutique music festival in South West Scotland, set in the grounds of the stunning 17th century Drumlanrig Castle. There is a very special atmosphere as Electric Fields cram in some of the biggest bands and DJs around to play in this great setting to just a few thousand people.

As well as engaging, popular and interesting music there is incredible installation art and delicious food & drink on offer. This comes in the form of the Real Ale Festival and the Pitt Food Village. There’s a full program of immersive activities for the kids too, as well as a fairground and Spoken Word with Neu! Reekie! It all takes place over the 30 August to 1 September.

Where’s it happening?

The Electric Fields in question are located at the beautiful Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfries & Galloway. It’s perfectly placed in the lush countryside just an hour south of Glasgow and about 3.5 hours north of Manchester. Far enough away from home to lose yourself on Friday, and near enough to get back to bed on Monday.

Who’s playing?

There is a stacked schedule this year and some amazing variety on display across the weekend. See for yourself:

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

Teenage Fanclub

Top quality acts for any boutique music festival I think you’d agree. They’re joined by the likes of Young Fathers, Ezra Furman, The Coral, Lady Leshurr and tonnes of others. There’s a bit of everything across the 4 stages. Check out the full line-up below:
