Your guide to the best beer festivals happening all across the UK.

The craft beer scene has exploded in the UK over the past decade, with more than 2,000 breweries now plying their trade everywhere from Plymouth to Aberdeen. 

Alongside the explosion of people making beer, there’s also been a rise in demand for people attending beer festivals, to meet the makers and fellow enthusiasts of their favourite hop-based beverages. 

Whether an expert or enthusiastic beginner, there’s probably a beer festival near you to get involved in.

Here’s our guide to some of the best beer festivals, happening all across the UK. 


Craft Beer Calling 

When is it? Thursday 24 – Saturday 26 October 2019 

Where it is? Wylam Brewery, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne

What can you expect? Newcastle’s picturesque Wylam Brewery opens its doors for the weekend, inviting over 30 breweries from all across the world into toon. There’s also street food from Gateshead’s By The River Co shipping container markets.

Hops and Dreams

When is it? Thursday 24 – Saturday 26 October 2019 

Where is it? 3 Harpur Street, Bedford 

What can you expect? Hops and Dreams is a brand new festival from Bedford beer emporium Beerfly. They’ll be hosting local and regional craft breweries such as Cloudwater, Polly’s Brew Co, Moncada and loads more. There’ll also be DJs, live music, street food and more fun over the weekend.

Northern Monk’s Dark & Wild City 2019

When is it? Friday 22 – Saturday 23 November 2019

Where is it? Northern Monk Brew Co. Leeds 

What can you expect? 30+ breweries head to Northern Monk’s Leeds HQ for one big house party. One floor of their base will be dedicated to dark style beers, and the other will be dedicated to funky, wild and sour creations.

Vessel Beer Festival 2019 

When is it? Friday 29 – Saturday 30 November 2019 

Where is it? Plymouth Guildhall 

What can you expect? Plymouth’s hugely popular Vessel Beer Shop bring some of the nation’s best breweries to the city’s stunning Grade II listed Guildhall. Some of the region’s best street food traders will also be in attendance. 


Cloudwater: Friends & Family & Beer 

When is it? 21-22 February 2020 

Where is it? Manchester Central 

What can you expect? Manchester’s beloved Cloudwater hold their not-for-profit Friends & Family & Beer festival for the second time. Over 60 of the world’s finest craft brewers will be pouring their finest tipples over the weekend. Your ticket price includes entry, glass and all your beers.
