TicketWeb meets: Willow

With the weekend in grabbing distance, we caught up with Willow who are playing Club NME on Friday.  A sure fire bet for superstardom in the future, we found out about their late night antics and hangover cures – winner!

You can also join them in person at Club NME at KOKO.  Click here for tickets!

What do you usually do on Friday nights when you’re not providing the entertainment at Club NME?

Go to a local bar and pretend it’s Club NME.

What’s the closest you’ve got to a weekend that could have been straight out of The Hangover?

Dour Festival would be the closest. It’s a festival in the southern part of Belgium where we partied for 4 days in a row and we don’t have ANY recollection of it at all. After 4 days we woke up and the whole camping area was already empty. Good times.. I guess.

What are your ultimate Friday night party jams?

When drunk enough we’ll dance to anything.

What are you drinking – do you have a tipple of choice?

Beer, wine, beer, wine and more beer. Is that a tipple?

How long do you spend looking in the mirror before you’re ready to hit the town?

Several hours and then I give up and just go out.

You’re at a club, where can we expect to find you – loitering at the bar, throwing some shapes on the dance floor, chatting someone up, sitting in a corner?

Hoping to chat someone up, therefore trying saturday night fever moves on the dance floor but ending up loitering at the bar probably boring someone by talking too much about 80’s pop music.

You’ve just left the club and you’re looking for a 4am snack, what’s your go-to post-club grub?

The only place where you can still get fast food in Leuven city at 6 in the morning. We always get free extra fries from the owner for some weird reason.

Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever spotted on a night out?

Justin Vernon from Bon Iver. Even took a picture with him! He said “Hey man, of course you can take a picture, but at the end of the day I’m just a fat guy with sideburns”.
Oh and Jared Leto.. He looked kinda creepy so I just ran.

What’s your best/worst journey home story? Ever got stranded in the middle of nowhere?

Strangely I don’t seem to have many memories of journeys home.. I know we do super loud sing-a-longs in the van after we played a gig. Our designated driver/roadie hates us for it.

Saturday morning has rolled around and you’ve got a bit of a sore head – what’s your best hangover cure?

I’ve made it a personal rule for myself to drink 1.5L of water before I go to bed after a heavy night. It really works. The day after, the hangover is still there but it’s less brutal. What to do next is get some food in your body, asap. Anything. And don’t stay in your bed or you will be there all day. Get up and EAT SOMETHING.
True story.

Thanks for taking the time to chat to us! Can’t wait to see you it in action this weekend!
