Local Natives Made Us A Playlist

Southern California dwelling cool-as-you-like indie rockers Local Natives are coming to the UK next month for a run of shows that include two nights at KOKO, London. To celebrate their impending arrival on wetter shores,  we got guitarist and vocalist Ryan to make us a playlist of tunes he’s been listening to, and tell us a bit about why he chose them. Enjoy!

William Bell – “I Forgot to Be Your Lover”

One of my favourite songs and favourite guitar parts ever.

Marvin Gaye – “Distant Lover (Live)”

Has to be the best live performance of all time.

Pusha T – “King Push”

Listened to this album a tonne while we were working on ours.

Nick Cave – “Rings of Saturn”

We got to see the Bad Seeds a few times while we toured our last album. Each time it was the raddest, most inspiring show I’d ever seen. And if you haven’t seen it, definitely go watch 20,000 Days on Earth.

Patsy Cline – “She’s Got You”

We’re currently in Nashville about to play at the Ryman Auditorium, so this song felt like a perfect choice.
