Hey Matt, Describe your sound in 3 words.

Acoustic, storytelling, thoughtful.

Where are you from and can you tell us something interesting/something people should check out about your hometown?

I’m from a very small town called Rockingham. It’s a beautiful little town one hour south of Perth. Home to some amazing wild life and wild people as well, you can swim with seals and dolphins, it’s amazing.

What’s your favourite venue you’ve played and why?

I played at a beautiful amphitheatre in my hometown at a little place called The Quarry Amphitheatre I performed there with my mother singing and playing acoustic and it lives in my memory every time I perform there.

Where do you discover new music?

Mainly on YouTube. I sometimes stay up all night searching music surfing art city’s culture everything. I love documentaries. You should check out Style Wars about the birth of hip hop in NYC or check Krs One lectures he’s a genius.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever got for free?

Skateboard decks! I won a few at comps when I was a grommit lol.

Outside of music who is your all time hero?

Kelly Slater he such an incredible athlete and human. I YouTube him daily.

What can people expect from your Islington set?

Super striped back versions of my music – acoustic storytelling!

Maybe even a broken string here and there…

Any pre-gig rituals?

I get super super nervous hey so I try to chill and do some gentle yoga lol. I’m not really a fan of having heaps of crew back stage I like getting a little grounded before I fly on stage if you know what I mean.

If you won £1000 on a scratch card what would you spend it on?

Travel money for my mum 🙂
