One of our Client Account Managers, Libby, from the Glasgow office, has been getting involved with a very exciting project! Here, in her own words, is what went down…
When the guys at Behind The Noise asked us whether we’d be up for getting involved with their programme, we jumped at the chance!
Developed by Scotland’s Music Hall Of Fame and Doghouse Studios, this ‘real world’ music and business education programme aims to inspire and support young students who have a keen interest in music and the various careers and opportunities that exist within the creative industries.
Running from September to May, students participate in various industry workshops, rehearsal and recording sessions, further education events and a work experience programme. The project culminates in a run of live music events at The Classic Grand in Glasgow where 150 young participants from across the city come together to not only perform but assist in delivering all aspects of these fantastic live events.
This is where we fit in. Offering an online solution to their ticketing needs, the BTN team decided it was about time to get us involved.
Inspired by their enthusiasm and commitment to encouraging and engaging these young students we could hardly refuse. We were invited to attend their Pre-Production Day at The Classic Grand and run a few workshops ourselves on TicketWeb and the Ticketing World, tying them in with the on sale of tickets for their ‘Gig at The Grand’ live shows. We started off by giving them a brief history of TicketWeb and then showed them all of the cool stuff on the system that we can do for clients to help promote their shows.
The day was a hit. It was amazing to see how dedicated these aspiring creative youngsters were to the programme.
The best part of the day was the countdown to all of their recorded sessions going live on www.soundcloud.com/behindthenoise. It was an emotional moment for both students and programme leaders and we were so happy to have been able to share this with them.
The Gig at the Grand shows take place on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of April. Find out more and get tickets HERE.
