I’m part of the Artist Services team which means I’m always on the lookout for new artists and making sure that you get to hear about them first!
First gig (that I don’t like to admit to): Elkie Brooks @ King George’s Hall, Blackburn
First gig (that I’m happier to admit to): Ocean Colour Scene, Manchester
Best gig: I saw The Strokes Liverpool L2 in 2001 with The Moldy Peaches supporting. That’s a one-two if ever there was one. I remember my mates being so disinterested in it that I had to drag my sister along. They whipped through the whole of Is This It? in 35 minutes. I’d never heard anything like that at the time – incredible. I saw The Flaming Lips a few years ago at O2 Academy Birmingham too – I was so taken by it I bought a t-shirt that said: “I saw The Flaming Lips live in concert and it made me a better person”. In a way I think it did.
