Introducing: The King’s Parade

Here’s an exciting Rhythm and Blues band that are an absolute force on the live stage. Line up and come march along with this Cricklewood quartet: The King’s Parade.

Who?

Olly Corpe – Vocals/Guitar, Sam Rooney – Piano/Vocals, Tom English – Bass/Sax and Chris Brent – Drums.

The Sound

Think classic Detroit Blues merged with melodic, crossover Pop and you get The King’s Parade. There’s an immense amount of Soul oozing out of this four-piece, Motown shines through as an important influence both live and on record.

The King’s Parade are breathing new life in to a genre that deserves more modern day lovin’. Their sound can be likened to everyone from Leon Bridges and Bill Withers to The Black Keys, The Kinks and Alabama Shakes.

The Story

The King’s Parade formed in 2012, they had an eventful few years before releasing the debut EP in 2015. In 2014 they were named the “capitals best buskers” by Boris Johnson and were arrested 2 weeks later – for busking….. classic London. They also spent some time as the entertainment on a Hawaiian cruise ship, racking up more than 40 hours of performing a week. The band also held down a recent residency at legendary Jazz haunt Ronnie Scott’s, an impressive achievement for what is technically an Indie band.

This speaks volumes of the technical talent the London lads have as musicians. All of this gigging at the start of their career meant that The King’s Parade became a captivating live band. They managed to translate their impressive live sound on to record with Vagabond – the debut EP released in 2015. We have it on good authority that the debut full length is just around the corner.
