Tropical rock three piece based in Manchester with Robert Ellis on guitar, Lou Cotterill on bass and Jacob Leff at the drums. And, they’re all singing!
Taking inspiration from the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club, Vampire Weekend and The Maccabees; Cassia bang out Afro rhythms with crunchy guitar riffs. Check out their latest offering “Weekender” below…
Born in April 2015 in the leafy green surroundings of Macclesfield by writer and guitarist Rob and bassist Lou, Cassia were originally an indie-pop duo when they released their first EP, Paradise Beach. Less than a month later they added local drummer Leff to the line-up and, in Rob’s words, found ‘the missing cog’ to the Cassia sound. Completely self-managed with a 10,000 strong online following in just over a year; their first release as a trio, Moana, racked up 11 thousand plays in just a couple of months!
100 Times Over, made it onto the BBC 6Music Playlist. This is a must listen tune!
