Norwegian-Kiwi electronic duo fronted by Anna Lotterud with producer Brady Daniell-Smith providing the bleeps and beats.
We’re talking bewitching scandi-pop of the highest order. 80s-inflected alt-pop gems. Check out the euphoric new track “Someone” below…
According to i-D Anna grew up in Gjøvik, a tiny place close to the place they filmed Netflix Scandi crime drama, Lilyhammer. Despite moving to Oslo Anna still felt the isolation of Norway and decided to travel. She found herself in Melbourne where she met producer Brady. The pair are now signed to the infamous dance label Different Recordings which provided an early home to Crystal Castles. If that wasn’t indication enough of Anna of the North’s street cred, Tyler the Creator just got Anna to feature on his new single ‘Mr Lonely’ which also features Frank Ocean! HUGE. She also appears on another new track of Tyler’s – “Boredom”
Check out the slick production and sensual vocals on tracks like ‘Lovers’…
…and listen to breakthrough debut ‘Sway’. The track enjoyed the Chainsmokers remix treatment but it’s the original that’s still turning the numbers on Spotify…
