So! This week was a bit of a crazy one! But good crazy – the kind of crazy where you drive 852 miles in three days and see and hear some amazing music and places and on top of that, get to play some great shows!
First up on Friday was Secret Garden Party – what an awesome festival! Wacky, weird and wonderful in equal measure, we had a great time playing at the Living Room stage!
Warming up before my set in my new, bright pink, Lennon sunnies courtesy of the festival! I refused to take them off all day, I loved them so much – even on stage!
Before the set, we headed over to play a couple of songs and have a chat live on Secret FM
And here we are playing, hands down, the cutest stage at the whole festival – I could have happily camped out here all weekend!
Then it was to Gateshead for Summertyne Festival at the Sage. I love this venue and to be playing at a festival alongside so many friends was a total joy!
I also loved this audience! It didn’t matter how early my set was, they were right there – singing along and ready to have a great time!
Then we ventured all the way from the North East right down to Portsmouth to play South-sea Bandstand! Even through horrendously bad weather and a venue change due to a water logged stage, the audience were completely up for it and were amazing!
This is us very happy once we were dry and in from the rain at Mother Kelley’s fish and chips in Portsmouth – which we HIGHLY recommend!
Laura’s life just gets busier and busier! She’s heading out on tour this September, come and see her live – get tickets here: ticketweb.co.uk/lauraoakes
