As I’m sure you know by now the world’s greatest Grime collective; Boy Better Know, are taking over London’s O2 on the 27th of August. That’s this bank holiday Sunday! Here’s the skinny on what to expect on the day/night that’s going to be so much more than just great music.
Boy Better Know have already played massive sets at Parklife & Glastonbury this year. If you were lucky enough to be at either of those performances you know how insane Skepta, JME, Wiley, Solo 45, Frisco, Jammer & DJ Maximum are live. They’ve also just won the Association of Independent Music’s Innovator Award, rewarding their ability to rise to the top of the rap game all on their own.
BBK play their biggest ever show this Sunday & have essentially created an entire festival just for you. I’ll allow this (rather brilliant) video to show you what to expect.
So yeah … BBK are literally taking over the entire O2 complex for the day & night. It’s going to be incredible. The opening times and running order are detailed in the below map:
Cinema 2pm – 6pm
Take this opportunity to attend the premiere cinema screening of Skepta’s “Greatness Only” documentary.
Gaming Lounge – 2pm – 7pm
Gaming fans have the first chance to play the brand new Call Of Duty WWII at Indigo at the O2 VIP Lounge on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You also have the chance to play against JME in multiplayer matches!
The Gaming Lounge will also feature remastered classic Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy.
Nike Football Tournament, Radar Radio, Skate Park – 2pm – 7pm
A custom football pitch and Nike SB skate park will pop up in the quadrant area outside the main entrance to the O2. You can play football from 2-4pm and watch the Nike Football Invitational 5 -a-side tournament from 5pm-7pm. There will be storage facilities for your skateboard or you can borrow off Nike SB for the day. This is all hosted and soundtracked by Radar Radio.
Tropical Bar & Roller Disco 2pm-7pm
Head down to Building Six, get your skates on and party alongside Grime and Garage hitmakers! There’s also an outdoor Tropical Beach Bar terrace – the ideal spot to chill out before the musical madness.
The Den – 2.30pm – 7pm
Ghetts, MHD, Casisdead, Mabel and more will be playing sets at Indigo 2000 for The Den pre-party.
The No Merci after party is also going down at Indigo 2000.
Back2Back 3pm -5pm
Julie Adenuga presents a showcase of her favourite artists for an intimate live gig experience downstairs at The Water Margin. Kojey Radical, Cosima, Connie Constance and more will be playing here.
Boy Better Know & special guests – 6pm – 10.30pm – Main Arena
Boy Better Know are obviously headlining, but the entire line up is absolutely stacked. Here’s a few artists playing on the day who, like BBK, are absolutely unmissable:
Huge Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky will be bringing some bangin’ East Coast Hip-Hop.
